WELCOME Y’ALL!
Hey Everybody! Thanks for visiting my site…I am really excited- this is my first website and my first blog! A lot is going on right now with my family and my career, and this blog will just be a place for me to share. I hope you all enjoy it and enjoy getting to know me a little better.
So, this summer has been so busy. I have a toddler running around, which keeps me crazy and constantly challenged. Estela turned two in July and we celebrated with a Shirley Temple inspired party! It was so much fun and I’m amazed at how quickly each stage of her little life goes by…she was a baby not long ago. Both sides of the family came to LA for Estela’s birthday party. One side of the family is from Louisiana and my husband’s family is from Mexico. We got creative on how to communicate, seeing as how neither family speaks the other family’s language. Most of the summer has been a lot of family time, birthday parties, and a quick getaway for the parents (me and Alejandro)!! I will post pictures below!
On the business side, I’m very excited to tell you about a major development for me personally. Since I got in this business, I have always wanted to have a lifestyle line. I was thinking about this back in the late 90’s! After I had Estela I knew exactly what I wanted to do- a children’s clothing line. When I had Estela, it took me back to my roots. My mom had gently packed away some of my outfits as a baby and she also got the urge to start making Estela’s clothes. Every few months I would get a box full of clothes that my mom had made from vintage patterns! I couldn’t find anything like what my mom was making in a store in Los Angeles. I would also go home to New Orleans and buy these gorgeous gowns and dresses from elderly women who sold out of their home. I paired these one of kind outfits with bonnets- can you imagine in LA? People didn’t know what to do when they saw Estela in a bonnet. Then she started to become a little girl…
I started to notice a trend in toddler wear. To me it seemed that 2 yr. olds were wearing 10 yr. olds outfits. What happened to a 2 yr old still being a baby? I want to cherish each stage that Estela is in and that is when I knew I wanted to design an age appropriate line for children’s clothing. I want babies to babies, and little girls to be little girls! They have the rest of their life to wear jeans, right? So- I shared my dream with a fellow Southern Belle who was moving to LA and we started Belle Parish. Belle Parish is a lifestyle line that is launching with children’s clothing.
What does it mean? Belle, from southern belle + Parish, name of communities in Louisiana… women + community. Belle Parish is definitely about the kids, but for the moms. We want to give you classic and vintage styles, with a modern twist that don’t break the bank. I can’t wait for you to see it! The line will be in stores, Spring 2010 and online in late Fall!
I also continue to host Spotlight to Nightlight on Yahoo, a webisode about celebrity moms. I love hosting this show, it has been a great outlet for me as a mom! Check it out- http://video.yahoo.com/watch/4673111/12489985

Well I am super excited for you!
My husband and I just saw you on something the other day and I commented on how I love that you haven’t gone completely “L.A.”. You’ve stayed true to your Southern roots, including the big ol’ bows in Estela’s hair.
Love that!
(I used to compete in pageants way back in the day when you did, so I’ve followed your career for a long time.)

La verdad es que te he conocido hoy, tras ver una película bastante simpática, que supongo recordarás: “Repli-cate”. En fin, mucha suerte y hasta otra.
